Syd is 8 months old today!!

Sydney is 8 months old today. WOW!!!! Time sure is flying. She is just awesome!!!! We are so excited by her growth daily. This past week alone she has learned to clap and kiss. She actually puckers. It's adorable!! She is crawling around and pulling herself up. We already lowered her crib. She is doing great at school. She sits at a table in a chair with her other little friends to eat her meals. She has the best personality ever. Again, I can't remember life without her. Nor do I want to!!!

Little Pumpkin

We took Syd to the Pumpkin Patch today. It was nice and sunny but a little on the cool side. She had no idea what was going on with all the people walking around all of these orange things. It was more for the benefit of Brian and I so that we could take some pixs of her. She is so alert and so interactive now. We LOVE it!! She sure does keep us on our toes.

6 month Dr. visit

We just returned from Syd's 6 month Dr. appointment. She has reached 18.6 lbs (90th percentile) and 27.25 inches (95th! percentile). He said that if her height stays at the 95th percentile, then she could be 5' 11" at 19 years old. I guess Sydney and Uncle Scott can stand together in the back of family photos. :)

Playing in the tub!

Sydney has done a complete 180 as far as bath time goes. She not only doesn't cry now but, she has found her toys and would stay in as long as we would let her. She amazes us every day!

Syd the DJ

Syd's activity center has a piano on it. She is learning how to be quite the funky DJ. We provide additional entertainment by dancing and acting crazy to encourage her. That part is not in the video!

Syd's chasing her daddy

Syd LOVES her activity center. She has really learned how to use her feet to get herself around it. Brian walks around it and she chases him. It's really cute.

Syd is 5 months old today!!!

Time is flying past us and Syd is growing into such an amazing little person. She loves to "talk" and laugh and has such a great personality. We took a video of her tonight while she ate some cereal and green beans. She has learned in a month that when the spoon is coming you better open wide!! She has just started jar food this week and was not a big fan of bananas. She actually gagged and let it all back out. She has really enjoyed pears, butternut squash and green beans. We just love watching her watching us while we unknowingly teach her tons of things daily. She's AMAZING!!!!

We just returned from our family vacation in Florida. Here are our pictures. There are over 700. We had a really good time. Syd became a professional roller and started sucking her thumb. She did so great considering she went to Disney, Animal Kingdom and Universal. We could not have asked for a better 4 month old to travel with. Sydney met Pluto

Syd had her first trip to Disney World on Monday, August 11th. We will upload all of the pictures in a couple of days. For now, here is a picture of her meeting Pluto. She LOVED his nose. She also met Donald and Goofy.

Four Month Checkup (and real food)

Today was Sydney's four month checkup. She has grown to 25.5 inches which is in the 90th percentile and 16.1 lbs which is also in the 90th percentile. She received 3 vaccinations. We didn't have the camera a the doctor's office but she rolled over completely for the very first time right in front of him. (Just in time for him to check it off and then leave the room) She is just like her daddy, waiting until the last minute for everything. : ) We got the go ahead from her doctor to start feeding her some cereal. So here is her first experience with being spoon fed. Hope you enjoy.

Myrtle Beach

Syd had her first trip to Myrtle Beach July 16 - 19. While we did not go to the ocean, she had a great time visiting with her Grammy and Papa Joe. She had her first experience in a swimming pool. Let's just say it was a "productive" experience!!!

Pumpkin Pie is 4 months old today!!!

Time is flying. Syd is growing fast! She is 4 months old today!! She has developed such an awesome personality. She has been talking for about 6 days straight now. She loves to hear herself. It's so much fun to interact with her. Faith and Solomon are here this week and she loves watching them as much as they love paying attention to her. She slept for 8 hours last night!! Mommy was a very happy camper this morning when the alarm went off and I realized that I had slept all night. Her is a picture of Syd and her Aunt Crayon (corinne) last weekend.

Aunt Michele, Uncle Scott, Samantha and Lindsay came to visit us last weekend. Grammy bought Syd and Lindsay matching dresses. They are 2 months and 11 days apart in age. They look so cute together.

We spent the last few days in Myrtle Beach with Syd's Grammy and Papa Joe. We took her to the pool one day. Her she is getting suited up!

Syd's new friend!!!

Syd has a new friend. Her name is Berkeley Elise Ramsey. She was born today at 8:06 am. Weighs 7 lbs and is 20 inches long. Congrats Heather and Aaron!

Syd is becoming more and more vocal everyday. She loves to listen to herself talk. We think she likes seeing us be entertained by it.

We finally got Syd on tape blowing raspberry bubbles. She loves doing it so much now that she has learned. I listen to her on the monitor in the morning when she wakes up in her crib blowing bubbles to herself. Watch to the very end.....that's where the amazing stuff happens!

Syd on the 4th of July

Syd turned 3 months old on the 4th of July. We didn't go see fireworks b/c we were in the midst of a thunderstorm. She did dress to be in the spirit of things however.

Syd is 3 months old!

Syd is 3 months and 1 day old today. We took her to the Picture People to have her pictures taken. She is growing like a weed! She started making complete raspberries yesterday. It's so adorable. Syd is 12 weeks old today!

Syd is 12 weeks old today and growing like a weed. She had a dr's appt on Tuesday and did amazingly well. She got 3 shots and handled them like a champ. She is 13 lbs 8 oz and 23 1/2 inches long now. Here are a couple of pixs of her in a watermelon outfit. She is so darn cute!

Sydney's first time feeling rain

We took Sydney outside and it started to sprinkle a little bit. We introduced her to the feeling of rain. It was so sweet to watch her reaction to the feeling of rain drops on her body. It really is fascinating to watch her learn things and see her reaction to them. We forget how good the simple things can be / feel. Lucky for us, we have a daughter who will remind us!

Our baby is growing.........

Here is a picture of Syd in her boppy pillow when she was 2 1/2 weeks old compared to her in the same pillow (different cover) yesterday at 9 weeks and 5 days old. She is growing way too fast!!!!!

Pictures from Sydney's First Vacation

Brian, Sydney and I just got back from spending 10 days in NY. This was Sydney's First Vacation. We stayed in Cuddebackville during the first half of the trip and in Long Island for the second half of the trip. While in Cuddebackville, Sydney finally got to meet her Poppy, her Aunt Corinne, Manly, the Conklin Family, Uncle Willard, Lucy and Tom, Gracie, Becky, Nolan and some of Grandma's coworkers. In Long Island, Sydney finally met her Great Grandmother, her Aunt Michele, Uncle Scott, cousin Samantha and cousin Lindsay, Mindy, Holly, Wendy, Larry, Linda, Andrew, Pablo, Jackie, Barry, lots of Grammy's coworkers and friends of Grammy and Papa Joe. We all had a really great time. It was a very exhausting vacation but lots of fun. We are adjusting very well to being back home. We miss our family VERY MUCH.... it's true that there is no place like home..... we grew up in NY, but The Labensons home is in Charlotte. Here is a link to pixs taken during our trip. Quick Hello....

Hey everyone. Just wanted to say a quick hello and let you know that we have not fallen off of the face of the earth. Syd is 9 weeks old today and is wrapping up her first vacation. We were in Cuddebackville from Thursday until Wednesday and have been in Long Island from Wednesday getting ready to leave on Sunday. She has been her normal fantastic self. We could not have asked for a better baby to travel with.

Things made for Syd with love.....

Here are two things made for Syd with lots of love. The dress was made by my Aunt Judi. It is so beautiful and so perfect. She also made Sydney a sweater, hat, booties and a matching blanket. The painting was made by my friend Tammy. She incorporated some personal items into the background of the painting such as our wedding announcement, a note from herself to Sydney, a note that I wrote a long time ago on a girls weekend and some other misc items that related. It is Sydney's first piece of original artwork that she will have forever.

Sydney is 6 weeks and 3 days old!!

Sydney has come off of a busy weekend. Her Grammy and Papa Joe were here for a visit. She had a really good time with them.

Sydney had her 1 month check up yesterday. She is weighing in at 9 lbs 10 oz and is 22 inches long. She is progressing like a champ. Hard to believe it's been 5 weeks already.

Sydney is a month (and 2 days) old ALREADY!

Sydney turned 1 month old on Sunday. Time has literally flown by. It would be interesting to calculate the endless hours spent just looking at her during the first month. She is so amazing!!! It's very exciting to watch her progress every day. She is getting stronger and stronger by the minute. What was life like before her????????
